The purpose of this fine tool is to measure the depth of holes, slots, shoulders, and projections quickly and easily to .001" or 0.01 mm. All heads are accurate to ± .0001" or ± 0.002 mm.
The Starrett No. 440 gages are furnished with a 2 1/2" (63.5 mm) base and 1/8" (3.2 mm) diameter measuring rods.
The Starrett No. 445 gages are furnished with choices of 3" (75 mm), 4" (100 mm), and 6" (150 mm) bases and have 5/32" (4 mm) diameter measuring rods.
